iPod Shuffle

Yay! I bought an iPod Shuffle 1Gb at RM147.

Machines were giving out 50 units of iPod Shuffle 1Gb to first 50 customers yesterday on the 18th of August. They advertised on the day before in the Star Newspaper. Being a very much "kiasu", I was quite determined that I wanna get it yesterday.

I woke at 5! Got ready and rushed over to the Kelana Jaya LRT station to take the earliest train to KLCC. There were no cars on the road and it felt very chilly in the morning. How i wish Malaysia is not so hot. Haha! Anyway, I reached KLCC at around 7 and quickly rushed up to Machines in the 3rd Floor to see that there were no one there at all. I was the only one there.

After 5-10 minutes, a group of 4 and 3 came. Unfriendly group of people, so I stood there in front of the shop waiting for them to open at 10. 3 hours till I can get the iPod shuffle. I didnt bring any water or food at that time and wasn't very willing to let people take my place because machines only gives out 10 units each session.

After waiting a gruelling 3 hours, no food and water and only one trip to the toilet ( I asked a guy I met there Shawn to "chup" the place for me), I've got my first Apple product, iPod shuffle 1gb and I was the first to get it! Behind me, there were 70-80 people lining up creating a big commotion. First time being so crazy, ahaha...

Tailgate-ers!

According to "Undang" when we first start to learn how to drive, we should distance our car from the car in front about one car's length. And, we all know that if let's say (touch wood ok?) somebody hits your car from the back, it's his or her fault! Then you have to report police la.. this and that.. and make a big commotion out of it..

TAILGATE-ers......are drivers who just likes to see the bumper of the car in front on close range.. or they like to smell exhaust smoke...

But still, I'm amazed by drivers who tailgate other cars by just inches from bumper to bumper. No kidding man.. I've seen it before! I'm truly amazed by the tremendous courage and skills of the drivers cause they don't fear death! I hope they can channel their skills and time into other more useful things. I really wonder, have they thought that if the car in front brakes suddenly he would "confirm" crash onto the car infront? Maybe it's the thrill of chasing or dogfighting.. when somebody drives away from you and to prove that you're as fast, you chase him down or overtake him, to show him or her that, you're just too slow....

Actually, after doing much research (not that I tailgate cars to find out okay..), this might be of help if you want to learn how to tailgate:-
1) Just think that the car infront won't stop suddenly..
2) Try to observe the car infront of the car you're chasing, once that car flashes its brake lights, start braking!
3) Don't always brake even the car infront flashes its brakes light..
4) Just step on the accelerator to keep up your speed!
5) Have enough courage and guts!

But, anythin further, you have to look for the pros.. not me! I won't be liable for any accidents caused alright..? Anyway, I'm sure my friends would know what is best for them. As for me.. it really depends on situations.. when there's a irritating car behind me following me to close.. Why Not? ahaha.. then you can see me along with my trusty Accord 2.0 Liters..trying my best to chase the car down... ahaha...

DIY Flip It!

Haha! I made my own DFD Flip It Pro! In case you all don't know, it functions as a bounce and diffuser for the external flash unit. The retail price is a whooping RM 160 for few pieces of plastic. If my dad knew that I've bought it, i might get killed.. ahha..but i didn't, I made it my self.. n here u go! Kenn made an exact copy of it and guess how much...? RM20.. it's actually cause the Velcro is expensive, around RM10 d.. So here is it..!

My arsenal of lenses..

Haha..the word "arsenal" is just for fun. I don't even know whether I used it correctly here. Anyway, I only have three lenses la.. so dun be shocked!

Nikkor 18-200mm VR

This lens is the famed 11x zoom from Nikon. The most popular all in one lens for travellers cause it eliminates the need to change lenses in your trips. It could be hazardous to your camera if u change lenses in a humid or windy area.

Disadvantage-However popular it might be.. it suffers from some defects. One of it-Distortions.At the wide end, there'll be more than normal barrel distortions.. making ppl look fatter when u shoot them.. ahha.. just a lil fatter onli la..

Advantage-The Vibration Reduction(VR) technology. It'll balance out the vibrations when you take pictures if you have shaky hands. And the viewfinder would be clearer too.

This is a third party lens-Tamron. Meaning not originally from Nikon. But among all the lenses from Tamron, it's one of the sharpest around. It's really sharp! razor sharp!

Tamron SP 90mm Macro 1:1

This lens specializes in taking close up photos. You can take anything from flies to small insects. Still new to this lens. And it's quite difficult to handle. Its barrel would extend when u shoot something very small n close. It'll extend to twice its size.. ahha..

Advantage- Its price. The original Nikon one is twice the price of it but it's of course better and coupled with the VR technology, it's a great but unaffordable (to me) lens.

Disadvantage- Like i said, the barrel extends twice its size. And when focussing, it makes a lot of noise. I think the fly would fly away after hearing the "ZZZZZ" noise from the focussing.

This cute little lens is among the cheapest lens you can get. But don't underestimate its quality cause of its size. It takes very sharp photos too!

Nikkor 50mm 1.8D

This is a potrait lens. It takes good potrait. Even at low light due to its wide aperture (more light can enter n reach the sensor) as compared to other lenses. There are even wider aperture lenses, but way more expensive than this lens. N it'll create a very nice blur background when taking potraits due to the narrow field of vision by the wide aperture.

Advantage- It's possible to take pictures at low lights. It's cheap! It's a must to buy cause it's darn cheap for a lens.

Disadvantage- Loud focussing noise. Other than that, no other complains. =) Haha, there's this one lens.. which i always wanna get. Currently still out of reach and logically not very practical to buy. It's really really expensive and it's more of a put into the dry box kinda lens because it's large and heavy. Nikkor 80-200mm or 70-200mm. I dun think I'll see the two of you anytime soon...take care...

Merdeka!

As our Merdeka Day is arriving, somehow I don't have much feelings for it but maybe it does the older generations who had fought for our Independence and those who have suffered a great deal for it. Maybe one day I would understand how they felt and what these 3 words meant to them, "Merdeka! Merdeka! Merdeka! btw, the old Stadium Negara is being renovated back to its formal glory for this year's Merdeka Day..I'll be gone by then..

Mmm...I'm sure everybody knows how to sing "Negaraku" (Kenn standing up now to sing) if you don't know how, please refer to your primary teacher for more information.. haha..Anyway.. My school's board of prefects love to ask the probates to sing this song during interviews..

Have you ever thought that "Negaraku" could be sang in other ways? e.g rap, rock n etc.. here's a video which i think they maker of this video will definitely get caught once he returns to Malaysia if he ever does.. the "boss" of the country will assasinate him in KLIA.. listen to the lyrics carefully..don't play with fire man..

Cinta: Sebuah kisah tentang kasih

Yo!I know I'm abit outdated on local films(before this I haven't watched "Sepet") too but so happen i've managed to buy a DVD titled "Cinta: Sebuah kisah tentang kasih". I've always observed the movie's poster on the billboard near my house but didn't really took the initiative to search for it..

First of all, don't look down on this movie man.. it's damn good! to my friends out there reading this post.. u must watch this movie! Malaysia movies are I would say comparable to "gwai lo" films. I can assure you that after you watch "Cinta". The movie is like a 1 hour 45 minutes long and it feels like you're watchin a super long advertisement cause of its videography. The angles, perspective, zooms and even the colours seemed advertisement-like.. but nonetheless, it's cool!

Generally, it resembles "Love actually" in some way. But the love story in this movie is more "malaysian la". In it has 5 love stories and the characters in the movie are somehow linked to each other. Em, like a lady in one love story is working in the same company with another guy in another one love story. I think you know what I mean right? haha.. anyway, there are lots of places featured in the movie:- Cental Market, an old building at Jalan Panggong, mostly around KL la.. n The Twin Towers appeared like 60 percent of the time (I'm exaggerating abit la..) It's quite exciting for me to see places I know appearing in a movie and you'll definitely see KL in a different way after watching "Cinta". Even a back alley of a shop in KL looks good.. I wonder how they do that..

Among all the couples in the movie, I would say the veterans Fatimah Abu Bakar and Dato' Rahim Razali were the best couple in the movie. Superb acting skills from both of them. I guess nothing beats experience la..aha..the other 4 couples, I would say.. OKla.. pass lo.. but still good! hehe.. wont reveal the love stories la.. find out yourself!

and oh ya, support original cause it's not that expensive also.. A original DVD of "Cinta" is only RM19.90! don't support piracy! they produce lousy copies..

Conclusion: Superb videography and you would not see Malaysian films in the same old way anymore.. because of "Cinta" i went and bought Gubra and Sepet. I've watched Sepet just now.. sad ending though.. the actor's eyes really Sepet man...

Today is a very good day! hmmz... Eve got a 400D! so cool.. it's a Canon EOS Digital 400D.. when she holds her camera.. its so cool! wanna get a 350D too(if i'm insane i would actually..)haha.. hope i'm not insane this period of time..must find the antidote to cure the poison in my system la..

Finally an update on my blog!after ages man....
Haha, my dad got me a new phone!! hmm..a made in china phone.. it looks cool rite.. touch screen phone..but the functions are like normal onli.. can play music,watch video.. make calls, sms.. good enuf for me d actually.. initially i tot it had 3G cause there's a camera in front.. after playing with the phone for almost 2 hours.. couldnt find any make video calls button.. so i guess it's okay la..you wont believe how much it is actually.. RM500 plus onli.. An unexpected gift too from my dad.. very very surprised he would buy it lo actually..Thanks Dad!

Manhattan Fish Market!

Evelyn and I went to Manhattan Fish Market for a "light dinner" today. Both of us ordered a Platter and their famous Fish n Chip.. Super filling..n we couldn't finish our food..haha.. before the food came, we took a few pictures.. mostly of the two of us la..

Fashion in Motion!

Thanks to Evelyn, I had to courage to take out my camera, small compared to the others with huge lenses to shoot the fashion show in midvalley. Those uncles, wonder where they get their money to buy those lenses.. i was there more to look at lenses than the models actually.. ahah..admiring the lenses..

As was kinda of amateur in taking photos.. tried my luck, with my D80, never end to amaze me.. ahah.. although the user(me) is kinda of amateurish..

Guess i'm not really a super enthu-blogger la.. ahah, haven't been blogging a long time. Anywayz today is not a very happy day.. something tat i didn't expect had happened. Let's not talk about it.. Nothin much happened also.. ahha.. okla.. ciaozz..!

Just a fan..

Two months ago, I bought a new AGP graphic card for my aged desktop (A Pentium 3-kinda antique la.. onli selling for Rm300 bucks in low yat) cause the old one had failed. So, I got the new card from this particular shop from Low yat.. if u wanna know the name of the shop, let me know.. i'll be glad to let u know the name and location so that you'll never buy anythin from there..

After two months, I heard a strange noise from my pc.. it's like a fan which not running smoothly. Very irritating sound.. so after much investigation and I found out the cause of it. It's actually the fan on the new graphic card. An one inch fan not functioning tat well. It's very important to cool the graphic card.. At first i tot it was the pc chassis cooling fan.. but it's not..ahah.. and i bought a new one somemore..

So i brought it back to the shop where I got it from.. I passed it to one of the workers there. He didnt know what to do.. he asked his boss. The boss happily said to me," Hey, the fan spoil d no warranty..if u wanna try, I'll bring it back to the supplier.. just that U Wont Be Able to Use Ur Pc for A Month..but not confirmed ok? " and he continued," I think u should modify abit, use ur brains.. screw a larger fan on the graphic card urself but It'll Void The Warranty, Just like that.. very easy..everybody also do like that.."

I was shocked..initially.. but was actually prepared that they'll give this kinda of excuses la.. so the boss showed me a fan n taught me how to VOID the warranty by tampering the graphic card's fan n the heat sink..use screws to screw the bigger fan onto the heat sink n he emphasised on.. no warranty for the fan laa.. when it's clearly a manufacturing defect..

But wat can i do? if i leave it for them to check with their supplier tat'll take a month? or maybe months? n i have to go back to the shop again plus won't be able to use my pc..

So I went next door which is Sri Computer( U can get any pc-related products there-very very complete..)to get a larger fan i think it's 5 inches with blue LED lights when turned on. I got the fan at Sri Computer even though I knew that the previous shop was selling too..pissed at them la..

Haha.. I went back home, used some tape n taped the larger fan onto the graphic card without tampering with it at all.. n it worked beautifully.. although i would prefer to have the graphic card's fan replaced.. but what to do? anywayz.. problem solved!I'm able to use the pc again..

So.. anybody interested to know the name n location of the shop which sold me the graphic card, just let me know.. alright..

Ashton Guitar!

My guitar! Mm.. my guitar lessons started i think a month ago.. i guess i just have no talent in music. I dun think I have any improvements although the tip of my fingers are already very rough. Anyway, I'll just keep on trying my best.. at least to play a guitar =) It's lying on a guitar stand.. ahah.. purposely got it for the guitar to look cool.. dun worry.. it's very cheap..

Kenn, spend more time practicin.. dun be lazy..which u are.. (must be crazy talkin to myself) hah..

My Accord!

My gosh.. my Accord has been serving me well all this while but just one thing bad about it.. High consumption of petrol! It really does.. plus I need to pay about RM100 for a full tank. Accord runs well onli during cold and rainy days when it feels like it.. U can feel the difference when u accelerate.. It has this particular sound when u accelerate on straight roads.. Haha, but nowadays that feeling hardly comes la..=( Have to push it quite hard to make it move now..but otherwise it serves me well la.. bringin me from one place to another.. bringin me and Evelyn around safely.. ahah..never had a major accident with it also.

It's quite solid la.. I'm just waiting for somebody to hit the back of my car cause the paint at the back is cracking d. N I need the person who hit me to pay for the damaged done plus I can even repaint and touch up the entire car. Haha, till now still waiting for that lucky person to hit my bumper at the back.. a slight hit will do.. not too much also la.. I'll charge him more.. can even add a turbo! Just kiddin la.. not so evil.. just wanna upgrade the sound system or something la with the money i'm conning him..

.. actually very lucky to be able to drive it once I got my license.. Thanks Dad! Keep on the good work Accord.. Will wash you once in a while ya.. U know, no point washing it when it keeps on raining nowadays.. I'll be like "Nooooooooo" it's raining!! I just washed my car!! To see it sparkling clean makes me happy.. I dun even wanna drive it cause scared dirty.. ahha...

Accord rocks!! Will miss it la.. parents gonna sell it once I leave for Manchester..they said no point keeping it d.. sob..

Thanks Evelyn=) for the coke and the stylish white jacket ya..All the way from Taiwan.. I really like them.. thanks again!!Haha.. this is my third jacket in my wardrobe other than the Reebok one.. had that years ago maybe Form 4 like that..and another thicker jacket I wore to Korea and Glasgow.. yup, that's all three=) thanks ya dear..

DotA!

Waa.. actually doing nothing at home is not very fun.. kinda sien. Just feel like no motivation to do anythin like that.. how i wish i was studying in IMU.. minus the exams. Ahah.. get to see Evelyn and also my bunch of friends, crap with them.. especially the DotA gang..

Chun Peng who is always so playful.Kenn says "Woi! wanna go Dota?" Chun Peng would always answer "Why not? Wanna lose ah?" ahah.. all our DotA outings surely he's there.. Drow Ranger=)

Jay who is always available at any time 24/7. I really mean 24/7. Kenn says "Woi! we go play DotA at 2 a.m.!" Jay would say," Sure!" ahha..

There were times we played from 2-6a.m. or 11pm to 4 a.m. That time really crazy la.. All the uncles and aunties were getting ready to go for jogging and we just got out from the cyber cafe, Point Extreme wanting to go home and sleep.. 6 a.m. was our record la.. ahha.. anyway, Cp n Jay always blame it on me for playing till so 'early', no la! it's the heavy rain la.. couldn't walk to our cars la.. so it's not my fault!!

Hau Chun.. sorry for forcing you to play la.. not enough kakis u know.. 2 on 2 ma.. rite?

It seems like we play alot rite? but in actual fact, I do "suck" in DotA.. maybe the lousiest among the trio.. ahah.. but i just like playing.. dunno why..

But since Darren and CP left for Melbourne, we haven't been playing la.. no mood d.. don't have tat kind of "all man are brothers-quote from CP" thingie la.. aha. maybe in the future we can play la.. online maybe? ahha.. no Rasta for Darren and no Drow for CP=)

Also, in IMU.. besides studying.. most of our time are on activities.. Convo Mag, IMU Cup.. it's really an enjoyable time studying there..I do miss going to Uni.. sitting in the lecture hall listening to lectures.. pretending to be hardworking..some sort like partying with 180 friends in the lecture hall=) breakfast,lunch and dinner at Vincent's or Pak Amir's(they're leaving soon d anywayz) mm.. wa! going to the library (Evelyn and I can't study together in the library.. I'll be too busy disturbing her and she'll be too busy being disturbed by me.. ahha..) studying at the front area there... the only place I can study.. Vista is for sleeping and cleaning up onli.. ahah..

Like now..mm.. still go to IMU once in a while la.. think back about happy times I had there..Time flies ya.. mm..

Music!

Since young, I don't have any talent in music, be it guitar, piano or any musical instruments.. somehow just don't have the will to learn music. When I see the notes, I feel like my head is very heavy already..something like reading Srikumar's notes.. ahah..

But guess wat!! I'm going to take guitar lessons from my cousin, Alex who happens to open a music centre called Concerto at K.I.P. Um, It's near my old house, Bandar Sri Damansara. I went there today and It's kinda cool.. My cousin explained thoroughly to me about guitars, how to learn and what I wanted to achieve. So now, I'm having two classes a week, 30 minutes each starting from next week =p .Anyway told him that he has to be patient with me cause:-

1)Seriously no talent in music
2)I'm actually quite a slow learner (especially in music)
3)I'm quite dumb when it comes to music

Practically everythin la..

But what I do really wanna achieve is to be able to play some songs with the guitar, some plucking and at least, next time, I can spend my time playing with the guitar. Actually, since now so sien.. learn as many things as possible lo...

Guitar lessons, tennis, chinese classes and a potential sign language class which my mum keeps reminding me about.. (just very lazy to go and enrol la..) and I have to pay all these classes with my own money.. ai.. how to buy lens for my D80(dSLR), accesories.. no hope d la.. try not to spend so much on DVDs, comics la..

Ahaha.. Evelyn is coming back tomorrow!!! so happy laa.. wonder what she got me from Taiwan.. ?I shall see =)
